デビュー当時は芸名‘Mayson the soul’で活動していたが、16年に人気バンド‘hyukoh’のボーカル、オ・ヒョクの薦めで改名。
‘Car the garden’の由来は、本名チャ・ジョンウォンから付けたもので、車(チャ)・庭園(ジョンウォン)を英語に訳した名前である。

19年SBS音楽バラエティ番組『The FAN』では、決勝戦で見事に優勝。
